They define
your priorities in life and shape your actions, interactions,
motivations and choices.
You probably have some sense of what they are, yet we don't
often take time to step back to take stock of them, reflect
on them and assess how you're doing in living a life that is
consistent with them.
|
Where
are you out of balance? |
|
Where do you compromise
your values for the sake of ease and convenience and ‘not
making waves'? How do you feel about that? |
|
What things do
you say are important to you that you are really just
giving lip service to? |
|
What could you
do differently, starting today, that would be a deeper
expression of your most sacred values? |
|
What are you doing
to share your values and dialog with those around you
about theirs? |
I've found that we rarely communicate our values, those things
that we hold most important to us, to others around us. Perhaps
we're self-conscious about them. Perhaps we believe they aren't
interested. Perhaps it's just easier to talk about the tasks
at hand and avoid the intimacy that is created when we let
down our guard and really share from our hearts.
So my challenge to you is this, identify three things that
are really important to you and share them with someone you
work with. Ask them what they value and see what difference
it makes in the quality of your relationship.
