| Happy
Birthday to an American Hero
Cesar Estrada Chavez,
Senator Robert F. Kennedy noted, was
"one of the heroic figures of our
time."
A true American hero,
Cesar was a civil rights, Latino, farm
worker, and labor leader; a religious
and spiritual figure; a community servant
and social entrepreneur; a crusader
for nonviolent social change; and an
environmentalist and consumer advocate.
A second-generation
American, Cesar was born on March 31,
1927, near his family's farm in Yuma,
Arizona. At age 10, his family became
migrant farm workers after losing their
farm in the Great Depression.
Cesar's dream was to
create an organization to protect and
serve farm workers, whose poverty and
disenfranchisement he had shared. In
1962, Cesar resigned from the CSO, leaving
the security of a regular paycheck to
found the National Farm Workers Association,
which later became the United Farm Workers
of America.
The significance and
impact of Cesar's life transcends any
one cause or struggle. He was a unique
and humble leader, in addition to being
a great humanitarian and communicator
who influenced and inspired millions
of Americans to seek social justice
and civil rights for the poor and disenfranchised
in our society.

| I
met with a local bookstore about carrying
my book, 6 Keys for Dissolving Disputes:
When ‘Off with their Heads!’
Won’t Work and have sent them
a press kit for further review.
Took
in some sights of the island and squeezed
in some time at the pool. It was great
not to be as electronically ‘connected’
as I usually am.

| Now
that I’m back, I’m launching
two new coaching programs. One of them
you’ve probably heard about already.
Leadership
that Transforms & Delivers™
has become one of my most frequently
requested speaking topics. Last year,
I created a two-month, six-module leadership
clinic that really does deliver and
it’s returning as a teleclass
in May. Don’t miss it!
The other program
is a new addition that I’m particularly
excited about. I’ve partnered
with C. J. Hayden, author of Get
Clients Now! and I will be
offering a one-month, 7-part series
on this concept also debuting in May.
This program is particularly effective
for professional service-oriented
businesses like coaches, insurance
reps, chiropractors, attorneys, MLM
organizations, and realtors…to
name a few.
With this program,
you will target specifically where
you’re stuck in the marketing
cycle and will discover
100 targeted tools and tactics that
will get you
unstuck! It’s both an educational
workshop and an implementation clinic.

Feature Article - Marketing & Building
Your Business
Many people are overwhelmed
by all that they could do and fail
to do what they can do.

Very
often, business people get stalled in their marketing
efforts because they can’t figure out what
to do. Others more forward in a start-and stop
mode trying first one technique, then another
and often quitting before they see the outcome.
I am one of those
life-long learners, always looking for what’s
next and studying how to get there. When I find
something that works, I become almost obsessed.
I my focus efforts and create a whirlwind of activity.
One of the things
I’ve found personally effective is concentrating
on my behaviors, not just my desired
outcomes. Clearly, having short-, medium-
and long-term goals is critical. A Harvard Business
School study revealed that 83% of the population
doesn’t have any goals! 14% do have goals,
but only 3% have their goals written down!
That 3% however, out earn the 83% by a factor
of 10 times! I have goals and I update
them regularly.
Once your goals
are set however, when working day-by-day, individuals
can really only control the sales activities
they choose to do (or not). They can’t actually
control their sales outcomes because there
are often other people involved in the process.
There is something magical that happens though
when you set your intentions and the work diligently
toward them. Sometimes you get exactly what you
were aiming for. Sometimes surprises and windfalls
just drop into your lap.
That happened to
me earlier this month. I was purposefully working
my marketing plan when someone I’ve known
for two years referred a big ‘chunk’
of business to me that could last for years should
I decide to continue with it.
That’s the
beauty of effective marketing. Productive efforts
always pay off, even if in unexpected ways.
Reminds me of that
line from Forrest Gump.
“Life is like a box of chocolates. You never
know which one you’re going to get.”
But if it’s chocolate (or exciting new business),
it really doesn’t matter! |

Article - GETTING THE MOST RETURN FROM YOUR SALES
TIME INVESTMENT (ROI)
BY
JOE LEECH, REPRINTED WITH PERMISSION |

Let's face it: you
are probably working for far less than you need
to. And the sad thing is, you may not even be
aware of it or the options you have! As of now,
we're going to change that for you, and possibly
share with you not only a thought but a vehicle
that can change your financial life.
We are going to
show you how to get much more out of your sales
time investment.
This probably applies
more to the part time, home based business person
than the professional...but we have seen, met,
and talked with professionals who really are under-
valuing their return on time investment. I know..
we are using that "time investment"
word a lot already. But you MUST consider it just
as you do a cash or money investment.
In fact, it's even
more important because once spent or invested,
you can't ever get that particular moment or minute
back. It's gone. You can always invest more money,
but you only have so much irreplaceable time.
Your sales time investment is one of the most
precious ones you can ever make.
