A tribute to mothers and the gift of life
|
| The
moment a child is born, the mother
is also born. She never existed
before. The woman existed, but the
mother, never. A mother is something
absolutely new. ~Rajneesh
The heart of a
mother is a deep abyss at the
bottom of which you will always
find forgiveness. ~Honoré
de Balzac
My mom is a never-ending
song in my heart of comfort, happiness,
and being. I may sometimes forget
the words but I always remember
the tune. ~Graycie Harmon

history on the holiday, see www.holidays.net/mother/story.htm.

I’ve
recently started coaching some extraordinary financial
advisors with one of the nation’s premier
financial services companies. They are relatively
early in their careers and are devoting significant
time and effort to defining their niche markets,
meeting people, uncovering their financial needs
and matching those needs to the products and services
they have to offer.
I’m inspired by their
enthusiasm, humility and focus. They have significant
hurdles to make to ‘stay in the game’
and are struggling now with burgeoning success
and all of the work that comes with it. Efficiently
managing their time is fast becoming a major priority
for them.
I’m dealing with similar
issues myself. I’m blessed to be faced with
numerous opportunities to contribute. Yet, at
the same time, my brain is yelling “Eee
Gads! How will we keep up?!?”
Just this weekend, I started
working on a new 28-day marketing plan straight
out of Get Clients Now! I love this process because
it’s so simple. Every morning, I wake up
with a clear action plan to tackle for the day.
Even though I am a self-proclaimed
self-sufficient control freak, I realized it was
time to let go of some of the work that needed
to get done!

There are times
in our lives when our hopes and dreams come to
a pinnacle and we get a glimpse of life that looks
and feels exceedingly good. For a surfer, this
moment is the ride on a perfect wave. For some,
that moment is when a relationship is developing
into something rewarding and beautiful. For others,
a new job, a raise in pay, an achievement, a new
house, car or a new friend. These moments in our
lives are precious and show us how beautiful life
can be. If you have experienced this phenomenon,
you can recall how your body chemistry seemed
different. You were able to breathe easier, walk
taller and imagine yourself to be in a state of
grace -- in tune with the universal flow. It feels
wonderful! Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we
could feel this good all the time?
I recently honored
a woman's 50th birthday by singing a song I will
share with you in part because it spoke of a basic
truth in life:
| |
Turning,
turning, always turning
Opening to the change
Learning, learning, always learning opening
to the change... |
I share this with
you because it expresses something that we, as
humans need to remember always. Change is the
only guarantee in life.
