Labor
Day, the first Monday in September, is a creation
of the labor movement and is dedicated to the
social and economic achievements of American
workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute
to the contributions workers have made to the
strength, prosperity, and well being of our
country. |
The
first Labor Day holiday was celebrated on Tuesday,
September 5, 1882, in New York City, in accordance
with the plans of the Central Labor Union. The Central
Labor Union held its second Labor Day holiday just
a year later, on September 5, 1883.
It's
often viewed as the end of the summer holiday season
as many children (and teachers) return to school
and work. While I promise to get some celebrations
in this weekend, I'm also looking forward to cleaning
off my desk, cleaning out my closets, filling up
my new file cabinets and getting myself organized
for maximum productivity for the balance of the
year. |

A little over
a year ago, I participated in a two-day
event titled, "How to be a Positively
Powerful Person". It was excellent
and left me quite inspired... and in action.
This year, Dr. Joel Martin
has teamed up with Pauline Sandell, MS,
Pat Overton, MBA and they will be leading
a profound transformational two-day retreat
titled "Connecting 1000 Dreams".
The retreat is dedicated to creating the
fortitude, empowerment, contribution, resources,
skills, and connections that build leadership,
restore community, develop businesses, and
make life exciting and people successful.
You can read more about it at Connecting
1000 Dreams.
I'll be there! Join me!
On another note, my friend
Doreene Clement (see article on Journaling
below) is a cancer victor. Surgery was not
an option for her and so she has pursued
alternative medical treatments, which are
keeping the cancer successfully at bay.
She needs your help though as the treatments
she has undergone have decimated her financially.
Some of her friends have set up a website
where you can help her for only $1! If you
are so moved, go to www.HelpDoreene.com
and show her some love! She is such an inspiration
and I know she would be deeply grateful
for your support and healing thoughts.

Last month, I announced a new
product/service offering, the Management Mastery
Club (www.ManagementMasteryClub.com).
I am happy to report that the concept is shaping
up nicely. If you go to the site now, you will
see only a temporary placeholder page, which is
not the content that will ultimately be there.
However, I have spoken with several experts who
have agreed to offer TeleClasses to the members
of the Club. The site will be targeted primarily
to owners of small businesses with less than 250
employees, but I know many of the topics we'll
be discussing will be of interest to other folks
as well.
Here's a partial list of the
topics we're planning: Kickstart Networking, Killer
PR, Motivate & Inspire, Organizing for Power
& Profit, Managing Others for Results and
Sensational Sales Skills. Plus, members will have
access to a library of management-related articles,
assessments, tools and resources to help you run
your business more effectively. also, advisors
will be available to answer those sticky personnel
issues that sometimes arise. Finally, members
will be eligible for discounts on certain products
and classes.
Stay
tuned...

DOREENE CLEMENT – THE JOY OF JOURNALING |
 |
 |
 |
Where were
you a year ago?
What were you doing 2 years ago?
What were you feeling 3 years ago?
What were your dreams 5 years ago?
How have you grown? |
 |
| Writing and expressing
can heal us. It can focus, support, and enhance
our lives and well-being. Whether we laugh
or we cry, whether through sorrow or joy,
we can understand more about ourselves, and
each other, through keeping a journal. |
Some
Benefits of Keeping a Journal: |
|
- Reduces stress
- Helps set goals
- Organizes
- Helps focus
- Improves well-being
- Makes time for you
- Creates a personal reminder
- Can be used for business
or personal
- Becomes a treasured
keepsake
|
Many people
recognize the value of keeping a journal,
but believe they don't have the time to
write beautiful, creative prose. The 5
Year Journal removes those concerns.
It's designed to facilitate really short
daily entries. With the advantage of only
3 lines per day, you can easily summarize
your day, create a gratitude journal, a
health or diet journal, a prayer or dream
journal, track your goals and intentions
and so much more, within these pages. If
you want to journal more, write first in
a blank book and then come back to the Five-Year
Journal and capture the essence of your
thoughts.
Choose the cover you like
best. The contents are the same.
I know a few of you have
already purchased a journal. I hope you're
discovering more about your own journey.
If you haven't gotten one yet (they are
wonderful!) or want to give one as a gift,
order it here >> Floral
